OpenTTCN Tester for TTCN-3 version 2.53.0 provides necessary facilities for creating geographically distributed test systems needed especially when testing Internet communication.

Using this new tool, TTCN-3 test systems comprised of geographically distributed tester, platform adapter (PA), and multiple SUT adapters (SA) can be created.

In addition, OpenTTCN Tester for TTCN-3 version 2.53.0 allows users to implement user timing server in platform adapter (PA) using standardized triPlatform timer sub-interface and ANSI C API. OpenTTCN SDK contains an example implementation of such a timer server.

The entities and features in OpenTTCN Tester for TTCN-3 are:

• TTCN-3 parser, syntax checker, and semantic checker,
• TTCN-2 parser, and syntax checker,
• ASN.1 parser, syntax checker, and semantic checker,
• TTCN-3 and TTCN-2 Execution (TE),
• TTCN-3 Runtime Interface (TRI) (communication, external function, and timer sub-interfaces are all supported),
• TTCN-3 Control Interface - Coding and Decoding (TCI-CD), and
• TTCN-3 Control Interface - Test Management (TCI-TM).

New features added to version 2.53.0 are:

• added support for distributed SUT adapters,
• added implementation for API of triPlatform timer sub-interface,
• added function otInsertLogItem() to insert log events to OpenTTCN log from platform, SUT, coding, and test management adapters,
• added --print-parameters and -p options to tester run command to log values of module parameters before run, and
• added an option that instructs test component to acquire values of TTCN-3 module parameters from the parameter repository instead of querying them directly from the user using TCI-TM interface.

OpenTTCN Tester for TTCN-3 version 2.53.0 for both Windows and Linux platforms is available immediately to existing OpenTTCN customers. Please send a request for this version to your contact person and the software download rights will be assigned to you.

The TTCN-3 parser and TTCN-3 syntax and semantic analyzer are in compliance with the latest TTCN-3 Core Language standard as published in the ETSI ES 201 873-1 v2.2.1 (2003-02).

The TTCN-2 parser and TTCN-2 syntax analyzer are in compliance with the latest TTCN-2 standard as published in the ISO/IEC 9646-3:1998.
